Heartbreak Summer Reimagined
Sun & Sound Detroit invites you back into the glow of The End of Summer, where familiar feelings meet fresh energy. Singer, songwriter, producer, and DJ sillygirlcarmen teamed up with producer Young Roc to craft the original four–song EP—a warm, emotional snapshot of fleeting moments, late nights, and love on the edge. One track in particular, “Heartbreak Summer,” quickly stood out, pulling listeners in with its raw honesty and irresistible melody.
Now, that standout moment gets a full reimagining. Sun & Sound Detroit revisits “Heartbreak Summer” with four additional producers, each bringing their own sonic perspective—flipping the mood, reshaping the rhythm, and injecting new life into the song you thought you already knew or just discovered with this release. From deeper grooves to brighter dancefloor energy, these versions stretch the original emotion in bold new directions.
Whether this is your first listen or you’re coming back for another round, this release is an open invitation: feel it again, move differently, and let your heart jumpstart to new beats while the echoes of summer refuse to fade.

About our Producers…
Born into a deeply creative household and raised just outside Chicago, Eric Welton—known to the world as Emmaculate—is a product of lineage, discipline, and the city that gave House Music its soul. Discovering house in the late ’80s, he immersed himself early: collecting vinyl, teaching himself to DJ, and developing a meticulous, detail-first approach to production that earned him his now-signature name. By the early ’90s, Emmaculate had become one of Chicago’s trusted producers and mix engineers, shaped through years of close work and mentorship with house music’s foundational figures.
Stepping fully into the spotlight as a recording artist in 2017, Emmaculate’s originals and remixes have landed on many of dance music’s most respected labels while repeatedly topping Traxsource charts. His remix of Robin S’s “Show Me Love” was the #1 overall selling track of 2022, followed by high-impact work for Mary J. Blige, Ten City, Incognito, Roy Ayers, Barbara Tucker, and more. A four-time Grammy nominee, his engineering and production credits span icons like Beyoncé, Mariah Carey, Yolanda Adams, and Ten City.
Beyond the studio, Emmaculate has taken his sound worldwide and expanded into film as an executive producer on In Our DNA: Hip House. When his name is attached to a remix, it signals more than polish—it brings history, trust, and a Chicago-rooted authority that elevates the record while honoring its soul.
Mallorca-born house music veteran Javi Colors has a very prolific discography including releases on international labels like Stereo Productions, Oto Music or Beat-Freak Recordings to name a few. Javi returned to the studio in 2025 with renewed force, presenting meticulously updated versions of two of his most enduring tracks — House Nation and Stompin’ — as part of Stereo Productions’ 25 Year Anniversary slate. As one of the first artists signed to the iconic Iberian label, Colors has been instrumental in shaping its sound and global reputation, consistently delivering tracks that resonate with DJs and dance floors around the world.
As a DJ and Producer, Javi Colors’ influence extends across decades of releases and remixes, his work emblematic of Stereo Productions’ legacy and the enduring appeal of the Iberican house signature sound. His energy to a project ensures it stands out with both credibility and contemporary club relevance. Javi has a history of translating emotion into groove — from early hits to refined reworks — which uniquely positions him to bring depth, soul, and technical precision to the Heartbreak Summer remix he has completed for Sun & Sound Detroit.

Known for high-energy grooves and a strong sense of musical finesse, his productions balance dancefloor drive with soul and musicality—rooted in house tradition but shaped for modern floors. A long-standing presence in the international house community, Bonetti has consistently charted on Traxsource for nearly a decade, earning repeated Top 100 Jackin’ House Artist rankings and broader recognition across deep and house categories.
Founder of Groovy Riddim Records (est. 2018), Bonetti has built a respected label platform while releasing music on cornerstone imprints including Salted Music, Henry Street Music, King Street Sounds, Tinted Records, Quantize, Spacedisco, MoBlack, and more. His work has been supported and played by house luminaries such as Miguel Migs, DJ Spen, Roger Sanchez, Mark Farina, Mr. Fingers, Stacey Pullen, Todd Terry, Jamie Jones, and Bob Sinclar, and has appeared at major festivals including Tomorrowland and The BPM Festival.
A Vicious Music Awards nominee for Best House Artist, Bonetti remix brings years of global club experience and chart-tested credibility to this EP—delivering groove-led house music designed for DJs, dancers, and deep listeners alike.
